Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026

notelang helps you translate selected text while reading and save useful translation history for review.

Information we collect

How we use information

We use this information to provide translations, save history, show review pages, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and support account access.

Browser extension

The extension sends selected text, language settings, context, page title, and URL to notelang only when you request a translation. If you are not logged in, translations can still be shown, but history is not saved to your account.

Storage and deletion

Saved translations remain in your history until you delete them or until the service removes them under retention or abuse-prevention rules. You can delete individual history items from the History page.

Product analytics

We use PostHog to analyze usage and improve the product. PostHog collects minimal, anonymous, and aggregate usage events (e.g. extension installations, translation requests) without any personal identifiers, page URLs, or translated text. We honor browser Do-Not-Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) headers; if enabled, no analytics events will be sent.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may use service providers for hosting, authentication, translation, analytics, and security. They may process information only as needed to provide the service.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards for account and history data. No internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
